- Cycling history/experience; After a long career in distance running, from high school, through college and post collegiately and due to numerous injuries I crossed over to cycling as my primary activity in 1991. Began riding gravel in 1997 and roughly half of my annual miles ridden are on gravel roads. Raced USA Cycling events in road races, criteriums and stage races in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico up until about 2005. Have basically raced exclusively in gravel events since 2010.
- RUNNING: 3x NAIA All-American (Indoor/Outdoor Track and Cross Country) while at Fort Hays State University. CYCLING: 2x Tour of the Gila Stage Winner (Category 3). 5th place finish at USA Cycling Master’s Nationals 2004. 7x finisher of the Dirty Kanza 200 and 5x winner of the Race the Sun Award. 1 broken collarbone.
